A good site...

Refer to the following for more info.
www.silktide.com - free so we've reviewed it below
www.urltrends.com - charges and have to register
www.alexa.com - swayed so easily by webmasters having the toolbar installed and visiting their own site. They do a free site traffic button if you want people to know how much traffic you get

What is a good site?

How to tell if you have a good site - apart from google loving you [1]

What does SilkTide measure?

Marketing How well marketed, and popular the website is.
Design How well designed and built the website is.
Accessibility How accessible the website is, particularly to those with disabilities.
Experience How satisfying the website is likely to be.
Visitor rating Average user rating for this site's design

This is definately an interesting read. I'll be reviewing my sites using this tool.

They look for links in, how well the site conforms to standards and whether it has a Search facility, Privacy policy, News, Frequently Asked Questions, Advertising or Sponsorship, Contact details, RSS feed, and Website map

[1] It is possible to have good unique content and for google to hate you and never send you any traffic. Their loss.
